Ruined Castle Ridge

Ruined Castle Ridge runs south-east from the foot of Castle Head to Cedar Gap.

It gets its name from the Ruined Castle, a rocky outcrop that dominates the ridge.

Ruined Castle Ridge separates the Jamison Valley so the north-east from Cedar Valley to the south-west.

The ridge was extensively mined for oil shale in the early 1900s.
