Queahgong Plane Crash

Sometime in the mid 1960s a small aeroplane crashed in the Krungle Bungle Range between Hawk Fell and Mt Queahgong, at the top of Queahgong Buttress.

An SBW account of a 3 Peaks trip in 1966 reports the party saw the wreckage and that the plane crashed in 1965. An article in the Sydney Morning Herald on 10 April 1968 reports a plane crash somewhere in the same area.

It's a 23km round trip to the Queahgong Plane Crash from Whalania Heights.
