Mt Towac is a remnant volcanic cone, one of several in the area.
The ridges radiating away from the peak are heavily eroded exposing volcanic rocks balancing precariously in place.
There is a well made track starting from the Gum Ridge fire trail that provides easy access to Mt Towac.
Mt Towac is very exposed. There is no shelter at all.
