Explorers Brook

Explorers Brook rises in the ridges to the south of Mt Banks and flows north east to Carmarthen Brook, 8 kilometres away.

The creek has eroded a deep and continuous canyon.

Walking along the creek is very pleasant. Huge sassafras and coachwood trees tower above with decaying vegetation and fungus underneath.

Large colourful crayfish are everywhere, even on dry land. Rocks are thickly covered with green moss and there are many tranquil pools.

Canyon walls mean there aren't many entry or exit points into the Explorers Brook Canyon.
